Ram Kannan

Ram Kannan, PhD, is an accomplished professional in the field of biotechnology with extensive experience in research and innovation. Currently serving as the Associate Director of New Ventures and Asset Strategy at Schrödinger since January 2021, Ram Kannan focuses on pipeline strategy and external innovation. Previously, Ram Kannan held the position of Flagship Pioneering Venture Fellow in 2020 and served as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center from 2014 to 2020, where significant achievements included optimizing genome editing methods and generating a novel oncogenic mouse model using CRISPR. Earlier, Ram Kannan was a Graduate Research Fellow at the Stowers Institute for Medical Research, discovering mechanisms related to telomerase RNA processing, and served as a Junior Research Fellow at the National Center For Biological Sciences, developing key protocols for mitochondrial visualization. Ram Kannan earned a Ph.D. in Molecular & Integrative Physiology from the Stowers Institute for Medical Research and the University of Kansas Medical Center, following a B. Tech in Biotechnology from PSG College of Technology.
