Yifan Kong is an accomplished materials scientist and engineer with extensive experience in microfabrication and neural technologies. Currently serving as the Director of Microfabrication at Science since July 2021, Yifan previously held several prominent positions at Paradromics Inc, including CTO and Chief Engineer, where innovative cortical sensors were developed and manufacturing processes were advanced. Yifan has also led the creation of significant brain recording systems and collaborated on high-stakes projects, including securing an $18 million contract from DARPA. Academic background includes a PhD and Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
