Ben Ochstein is a seasoned education professional with extensive experience in leadership and talent development within the education sector. Currently serving as Vice President - Western States at Scoot Education, Ben focuses on the staffing of substitute teachers and the innovative TeachStart program. Prior to this role, Ben was the Director of Special Projects at Alder Graduate School of Education, where efforts led to a significant fundraising potential of $8 million. During a notable tenure as Director of Talent at KIPP Public Schools Northern California, Ben successfully grew the talent acquisition team, achieved remarkable diversity in hiring, and launched the KIPP Bay Area Schools Teacher Residency Program. Earlier experiences include teaching at KIPP DC and founding teacher roles in KIPP New Orleans, complemented by a position as Curriculum Specialist at Teach For India. Ben holds a degree in Political Science from Indiana University Bloomington.
