Austen Portz

Austen Portz has extensive work experience in engineering roles. They started their career as a Hardware Engineer at Sonic Foundry Inc. in 2006 and were responsible for designing and testing hardware platforms. Austen later became a Hardware Engineering Manager and then a Director of Hardware Engineering, where they led cross-functional teams and implemented several improvements in software development and appliance configuration. They were promoted to Vice President of Engineering, overseeing multiple engineering teams and leading the development of live-streaming and recording appliances. Austen then became the Senior Vice President of Engineering, where they transitioned teams to agile methodologies and led an advanced research team focused on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Currently, Austen works at Scope AR as the VP Engineering.

Austen Portz holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. In addition to their formal education, Austen has obtained several certifications including Certified Agile Leadership Essentials and Certified Agile Leadership for Organizations from the Scrum Alliance. Austen also holds certifications in scuba diving, including Rescue Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver, and Open Water Diver from PADI.
