Melanie Badger

Melanie Badger has a diverse work experience. Melanie worked at Scorpion from July 2009 to May 2018, starting as a Senior Designer and later becoming a Senior Visual Development Artist. In this role, they created innovative designs tailored to client requests and was also a part of the Scorpion Design VIP Design Team. Melanie also worked as a Freelance Illustrator and Visual Development Artist at Melanie Hopper since July 2008. Additionally, they gained experience as an Artist/Designer at Trader Joe's from May 2008 to July 2009, where they maintained store graphics, collaborated with store managers on product marketing, and created seasonal artwork. Furthermore, they worked as an Artist/Designer at The Paper Rabbit from May 2008 to July 2009, where they designed copyrighted custom designs, assisted in managing the store, and developed new craft lessons. Lastly, in 2020, they participated in the WIA Mentorship Circle as a mentee, focusing on the production and creation of animated feature films under the guidance of Rita Mbanga.

Melanie Badger attended the California College of the Arts from 2004 to 2008, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Illustration. In addition, they pursued further education in various fields without obtaining specific degrees. Melanie studied Storyboarding, Figure Drawing, and Children's Book Illustration at the ArtCenter College of Design. Melanie also took courses in Design and Visual Communications, General, Background Painting Studio Ghibli, Figure Drawing, and other subjects at the Concept Design Academy. Furthermore, Melanie pursued Background Design at the Red Engine Entertainment Design School.
