Sam Gardner currently serves as the Head of Climate Change & Sustainable Development at ScottishPower, a position held since July 2019. Prior to this role, Sam held various positions at WWF Scotland from May 2013 to August 2019, including Acting Director and Head of Policy, where responsibilities included managing the policy team and addressing climate change policy, renewable energy transition, and marine governance. Additionally, from November 2007 to January 2013, Sam served as the Senior Climate Change Policy Officer, focusing on the implementation of the Scottish Climate Change Act. Sam holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Stakeholder Engagement in Environmental Policy Development and Implementation from UCL (2000-2004) and a degree in Ecological Science (Honours in Ecology) from The University of Edinburgh (1996-2000).
