Alan Forsythe serves as the Learning and Development Manager in the Leadership Development Team and at HMP Low Moss within the Scottish Prison Service since April 2020. Prior experience includes roles as Leadership Training Manager and Talent Training Manager at the Scottish Prison Service College from December 2017 to April 2020. Alan's career began at AIM International as a Community Development Worker from May 1985 to June 2003, where various cross-cultural leadership roles were held. Additionally, Alan worked as a Training and Development Manager at SHARE Ltd from August 2004 to October 2017, focusing on tailored training for housing associations and cooperatives in Scotland. Educational qualifications include an MSc in Human Resource Management and a Pgd Dip in HRM&D from Glasgow Caledonian University, as well as an MCS in Theology from Regent College Vancouver.

The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) is an Executive Agency of the Scottish Government and was first established in April 1993. Our Framework Document sets out the policy and resources framework set by Scottish Ministers within which the SPS operates. As an Executive Agency, the SPS is funded by the Scottish Government.
