Catherine Forrest is an experienced Learning and Development Manager at Scottish Prison Service since June 2020. Previously, Catherine served as National UK Training Coordinator and Glasgow Trainer at Drink Wise Age Well UK from May 2015 to June 2020, developing training manuals aimed at reducing alcohol-related harm in later life. Prior to that, Catherine worked as an Addictions Recovery Worker at SAMH, focusing on the implementation of a Big Lottery funded service for individuals in recovery. As an Enhanced Addictions Caseworker with Phoenix Futures from August 2009 to April 2014, Catherine delivered support to prisoners seeking addiction assistance. Catherine's career began as a Homeless Project Worker with Glasgow City Council between March 2004 and March 2007. Catherine holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Aberdeen and further qualifications in Learning & Development as well as from the University of Strathclyde.

The Scottish Prison Service (SPS) is an Executive Agency of the Scottish Government and was first established in April 1993. Our Framework Document sets out the policy and resources framework set by Scottish Ministers within which the SPS operates. As an Executive Agency, the SPS is funded by the Scottish Government.
