Kathleen McDermott

Kathleen McDermott is an experienced professional with a diverse background in operations and policy management within the criminal justice sector. Since May 2011, Kathleen has held various roles at the Scottish Prison Service, including Policy Manager in the Operations Directorate and Unit Manager, alongside experience as a Prison Officer and First Line Manager. Kathleen also served as a Guest Inspector for Their Majesty's Inspectorate of Prisons Scotland in 2017. Prior to this, Kathleen worked as a Psychologist in training at the University of Glasgow and managed a Subway outlet. Kathleen started their career as a Customer Service Representative at Globespan Airline. Academically, Kathleen earned an MA (Hons) in both English Language and Psychology from the University of Glasgow between 2005 and 2010, following education at Firrhill High School.
