Chirantan Barua

Chirantan Barua is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the financial services sector. Currently serving as CEO of Scottish Widows and CEO of Insurance, Pensions and Investments at Lloyds Banking Group since May 2023, Barua previously held significant roles at HSBC as Global Head of Strategy and Group General Manager from May 2020 to April 2023. Prior professional experience includes partnership at McKinsey & Company, managing directorship at AB Bernstein, and various strategic positions at Standard Chartered Bank and Citigroup. Barua holds an MBA in Finance & Strategy from INSEAD, a PGDM in General Management from the Indian Institute of Management Lucknow, and a B Tech in Chemical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli.
