Mahir Morshed

Mahir Morshed is a data scientist and knowledge engineer currently working at Scripps Research, where the focus is on integrating Wikidata into the Knowledge Fabric of the Proto-Open Knowledge Network. Prior experience includes a role as a research and development intern at Sandia National Laboratories, where significant contributions were made in developing optimized algorithms and libraries for image encoding and simulation pipelines. Mahir Morshed also held positions as a research investigator and engineering learning assistant, guiding undergraduate students and conducting research on thermoelectric materials and nanostructures. Education includes a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where a master's and bachelor's degree were also obtained in the same field.
