Robert Overton is a seasoned structural engineer with extensive experience in the energy sector, currently serving as a Principal Structural Engineer at SEA Global, focusing on the Malampaya expansion since November 2024. Overton previously worked at Santos Ltd as a Senior Project Engineer on the Bayu-Undan life extension and carbon capture and storage project, and at Wood as a Lead Structural Engineer. Prior roles include significant contributions as an Independent Consultant in wind energy and as a Senior Technical Project Lead at Ørsted for the Hornsea 1 wind farm. Overton's foundational career includes management of a structural engineering group at CUEL Ltd. in Thailand, where oversight of a large team was required, and participation in notable projects such as the Sakhalin II and Bayu Undan projects. Robert Overton holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) (Hons) in Civil Engineering from Loughborough University, obtained between 1983 and 1987.
