Benjamin Bjørge has experience as a Board Member and Strategic Sourcing Director & Business Development at Seagems Group, providing flavors, ingredients, and nutrition to the global food industry. Benjamin previously worked as a Digital Transformation Manager at DNV GL, where Benjamin focused on developing and accelerating the company's digital transformation. Additionally, Benjamin has experience as a Navigation Officer on various vessels, including chemical/LNG tankers and oil tankers. Benjamin also served in the Norwegian Armed Forces, and holds a Bachelor's degree in Nautical Science and an Executive Master of Business Administration (eMBA) from BI Norwegian Business School.

The story of Seagems starts with the realization that global demand for seafood and proteins is on the rise, and our oceans’ resources are under immense pressure. This creates new opportunities for the industrial operations. Seagems’ mission is to upcycle existing residual raw material from the seafood industry, providing the global food industry with innovative, high-quality and tasty ingredients for food applicational purposes. Simultaneously, creating new revenue streams for the many seafood producers. With more than 30 years of experience from the seafood ingredient industry Seagems sees the urgency in demand for a new model to current operations that will benefit the producers, end-users and the environment altogether. Through the valorization of residual raw material at the location of processing, through the use of innovative technologies, Seagems is able to retain the freshness of the raw material and valuable nutritional compounds, as well as reducing the carbon footprint of transportation, as the semi-finished product is in a highly concentrated form. This model builds on well-established and long-lasting relationships with the suppliers of raw material, where Seagems heavily contributes with know-how and experience. Seagems develops ingredients in close collaboration with its customers in order to meet their specific needs and applicational use. Today, Seagems’ ingredients are a vital part of more than 4 billion meals served around the world. Since 2018 Seagems has been building an organization with a key focus on lean and innovative scaling, with a fundamental focus on sustainability, bringing seafood ingredients to the global market.
