Vance Cathell was named the Securities and Exchange Commission's Director of the Office of Acquisitions in June 2012.

Mr. Cathell first started at the SEC as a contract specialist in the Office of Acquisitions in November 2007. Before coming to the SEC, Mr. Cathell worked at the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Defense Mapping Agency, and the United States Postal Service.

Mr. Cathell received his bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing from Marymount University, and his MBA in contract management from Florida Institute of Technology.
