René van Geer is an accomplished designer and entrepreneur with extensive experience in product design and consultancy. Currently serving as the Owner of Secrid since 2009, René has played a pivotal role in revolutionizing the wallet market and promoting CO2 neutrality within the industry. Prior to Secrid, René founded SPIRID creation BV and owned DSI design services BV, specializing in industrial design. Earlier career experiences include roles as a product designer at Bosch Telecom and ITT, focusing on telecommunication products. Educational background includes studies at Delft University of Technology, where René obtained a Propedeuse in chemistry before completing a degree in industrial design.

We are Secrid, a Dutch creative company founded in 1995 based on one dream: our own design label with unique products. In 2009 our dream became reality with the launch of our first product; A compact wallet which brings fashion and industrial design together, yin-yang. This yin-yang mindset started with the designer couple who together form the foundation of Secrid: Marianne van Sasse Van Ysselt and René van Geer. The balance is found in everything we do, from the choices we make, to the composing of the teams and the designing of each collection. While Marianne creates our collections with her feeling for trends and fashion, René designed and develops our patented mechanism.
