He served as Marketing Director for Nippon Vicks KK (Japan) based in Osaka for 5 years (from 1983-1987). He was a member of the Boards of BPI’s subsidiaries and affiliates, specifically: BPI Capital Corporation, BPI Direct Savings Bank, BPI-Philam Life Assurance Corporation, BPI Rental Corporation, BPI Leasing Corporation and Ayala Automotive Holdings Corporation. He received his AB Economics Honors degree (with honors) from Ateneo de Manila University in 1977 and completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in 2006.
