He is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of PLC-Nickel Asia Corporation (since August 2018). He is also the Chairman of Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation (since August 2018), Taganito Mining Corporation (since August 2018), Cagdianao Mining Corporation (since August 2018), Hinatuan Mining Corporation (since August 2018) and Cordillera Exploration Co., Inc. (since August 2018). He is the President of Newminco Nickel Mining Corporation (since 2007). Prior to his career in mining, he worked for Citibank for a period of eight years, resigning as Vice President of the Capital Markets Group in Hong Kong, before joining Philex Mining Corporation as Vice President-Finance. He served as Chairman and CEO of Philex Mining Corporation from 1994 until his retirement in December 2003. He served as President of the Chamber of Mines of the Philippines from 1993 to 1995, and as Chairman from 1995 to 2003. He was again elected Chairman in 2017, a position he currently holds. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Manhattan College, USA, and his Master in Business Management degree from the Asian Institute of Management.
