Michael Seiwerath

Michael Seiwerath is an accomplished leader in affordable housing, economic development, and the arts, currently serving as the Executive Director of SouthEast Effective Development (SEED) since February 2021, where SEED owns 1135 affordable apartments and actively develops new housing in Southeast Seattle. Additionally, Michael contributes as a volunteer council member for the Cultural Space Agency governing arts preservation efforts in Seattle. As the founder of Skookum Pictures, Michael has produced notable feature films, including "Thin Skin" and "My Last Year with the Nuns." Michael's extensive experience includes previous roles as Executive Director and VP of Advancement for Community Roots Housing Foundation, Advisory Committee Member at Seattle Central College, and various positions with the City of Seattle. Michael holds a BA in History, Cum Laude, from the University of Washington and has furthered education at National Arts Strategies and Sundance.
