Philip Ma

Philip Ma has extensive work experience in various leadership roles. Philip is currently the Chief Executive Officer, President, and Founder of PrognomiQ Inc, a position they have held since October 2020.

Prior to this, Philip served as the Founder and Strategic Advisor at Seer, starting in October 2020. Philip also held the roles of Chief Business Officer, EVP Corporate and Business Development, and Founder from June 2020 to October 2020, and Chief Business Officer, President, and Founder from September 2017 to June 2020 at Seer.

Before their time at Seer, Philip worked at Biogen as the VP of Digital Health Technology & Data Sciences. Their responsibilities included leveraging digital technologies and advanced data analyses to create value for Biogen and its stakeholders. Philip managed a team focused on data sciences, data engineering, digital product development, and other capabilities from October 2015 to April 2017. Additionally, Philip was part of the Digital Health Office at Biogen, where they played a key role in developing the initial strategy and leading the implementation and further development of the company's digital health initiatives in June 2015 to September 2015.

Philip's career also includes a significant tenure at McKinsey & Company, where they served as a Director (Senior Partner) in the Silicon Valley Office. Philip worked with healthcare clients in the U.S. from July 1994 to May 2015.

Furthermore, Philip Ma began their professional career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the Department of Biology, from April 1994 to September 1994.

Philip Ma completed their education in a chronological order starting with a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry from Harvard University, which they obtained between 1982 and 1986. Afterwards, they pursued further studies at the University of Oxford from 1986 to 1988, earning a Master's Degree in MPhil Economics. Finally, they attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1988 to 1994, where they completed their education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular Biology.
