Micah Hanson is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in software engineering, research, and entrepreneurship. Currently serving as a Senior Software Engineer at Select Rehabilitation, Micah designs applications that interface with various third-party APIs to facilitate employee data management for over 10,000 individuals. As the Founder of Sherpana, Micah pioneered a guide-sharing platform for independent travelers in the Himalayas. Previously, Micah held a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position at Northwestern University, focusing on semiconductor material development and mentoring graduate students. Prior roles include supervising a Molecular Beam Epitaxy lab and conducting research at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where Micah published numerous peer-reviewed articles. Education includes a Ph.D. in Materials Science from UC Santa Barbara and a Business for Scientists and Engineers certification from Kellogg Executive Education, along with a B.A. in Physics, Math, and Computer Science from Luther College.
