Christian Popp has extensive work experience in various roles related to information security and project management. Christian currently serves as the Chief Information Security Officer at SEMPERIT AG since October 2021. Prior to this, they held the same role at ÖBB Holding from August 2017 to September 2021, where they were responsible for providing decision-making support to the board regarding information security measures. Christian also worked as a Senior Consultant at PwC from August 2014 to July 2017, specializing in information security. Additionally, they served as a Trainee Business Process Management at Erste Bank from January 2014 to June 2014 and as a Project Manager at PKE from July 2006 to July 2013. Christian Popp holds a position as a lecturer at FH Campus Wien from March 2012 to July 2014, contributing their expertise as a scientific staff member. Christian also worked as a Technical Planner and Project Manager at IB SÜD from August 2013 to December 2013.
Christian Popp began their education at Technologisches Gewerbemuseum, where they obtained their HTL-Matura in Informationstechnologie from 2001 to 2006. Christian then pursued further studies at FH Campus Wien, completing a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Risikomanagement from 2011 to 2014. Christian continued their education at FH Campus Wien | University of Applied Sciences, earning a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Risk Management and Corporate Security from 2014 to 2016.
In addition to their formal education, Christian Popp has obtained several certifications to further enhance their skills and knowledge. Christian became a certified Business Risikomanager according to ONR 49003:2014-01 standards from Austrian Standards in May 2018. In May 2017, they achieved the certification of ISO 27001 Lead Auditor nach ISO/IEC 27001:2013 from Österreichische Computer Gesellschaft (OCG). Prior to that, in May 2014, they became an expert in Wirtschaftschutz und Industriespionage, certified by BM.I / .BVT. Christian also holds the certification of Qualitätsmanager ISO 9001 from FH Campus Wien, obtained in July 2012. Christian further expanded their expertise by becoming a Datenschutzbeauftragter certified by TÜV AUSTRIA in December 2019. Finally, in March 2013, they obtained the certification of Business Continuity und Security Manager according to ONR 192400 standards from Austrian Standards.
