Vijay Rajanna has over 12 years of work experience, beginning with a role as a Software Engineer at Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Ltd in 2008. In 2010, they moved to Nokia R&D as an Engineer, System Software. From 2012 to 2013, they worked as a Staff Software Engineer at National Instruments R&D, where they researched and developed computer vision algorithms. In 2013, they began their role as a HCI Researcher, Eye Tracking, and Teaching Fellow at Texas A&M University. In 2015 and 2016, they served as a Research Intern at IBM's CIO Lab and Watson Research Center, respectively. In 2017, they were a Virtual Reality Researcher at DTU - Technical University of Denmark. In 2018, they worked as a Research Intern at Ocular Data Systems, Inc. and, since 2019, they have been a Senior Research Engineer at Sensel, where they are responsible for conducting research and development to invent solutions for human interface design.

Vijay Rajanna has a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science - Human-Computer Interaction - Eye Tracking from Texas A&M University, which they obtained between 2013 and 2018. Vijay also holds a Master's Degree in Computer Science - Software Systems from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, which they obtained between 2009 and 2011. Finally, they have a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, which they obtained between 2004 and 2008.
