Joel Rogers has extensive experience in regulatory compliance and engineering within the electric utility sector, currently serving as Principal Compliance Auditor at SERC Reliability Corporation since June 2014 after progressing through various roles including Senior Compliance Auditor and Compliance Auditor. Prior to this, Joel operated as Compliance Administrator at South Mississippi Electric from May 2007 to May 2014, providing guidance on FERC, NERC, and SERC regulations while enhancing operational reliability. Joel's engineering background includes positions as Operations Planning Engineer and Transmission Planning Engineer, contributing to system reliability through performance studies and project presentations. Early career experiences include roles at Mississippi Power as a Distribution Engineer Co-op and serving in the US Navy as an Electrical Systems Technician and Line Division Supervisor. Joel holds a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University and an Associate of Arts in Pre-Engineering from Jones County Junior College.

Our company is specifically responsible for the reliability and security of the electric grid across the southeastern and central regions of the United States. This area covers approximately 630,000 square miles and serves a population of more than 91 million. It includes all or portions of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
