Ian Weaver

Unistellar Education Program Lead at SETI Institute

Ian Weaver is an experienced program manager and educator in the field of astronomy, currently holding multiple positions including Program Manager at Onaketa Tutoring and Unistellar Education Program Lead at the SETI Institute. With a Ph.D. in Astronomy from Harvard University, Ian has significant teaching experience as a Graduate Teaching Fellow, where responsibilities included instructing various astronomy courses and providing student support. Ian's research background includes work as a Graduate Student Researcher at the Center for Astrophysics | Harvard & Smithsonian, focusing on spectroscopic observations of exoplanets. Additionally, Ian has demonstrated leadership and commitment to outreach as Co-Director of Open Labs, and has developed educational programs aimed at underrepresented students through the Banneker Institute. Earlier academic and research experiences include extensive involvement at both Harvard University and the University of California, Santa Cruz.
