Bob Stear

Bob Stear is an accomplished Chief Engineer at Severn Trent, responsible for Standards, Dams & Assurance, Health, Safety, Security & Wellbeing, and Innovation since November 2014. With a team of approximately 750 professionals, Bob contributed to the development of the £15 billion plan for 2025-2030. Previously, as Head of Innovation, Bob focused on enhancing customer and environmental outcomes and optimizing commercial benefits from research. Bob's experience includes roles as Market Reform Consultant at Defra, General Manager for Planning and Performance at Severn Trent Water, and various managerial positions within Severn Trent Water and Anglian Water Services. Bob holds a PhD from the University of Nottingham, focusing on salinity effects on activated sludge, and a first-class MEng in Civil Engineering from the same institution.
