Alex Linares is an experienced freelance animator and character designer with a diverse portfolio in animated projects across various companies. Currently working with ESPN since October 2016 on character design and background for animated shorts, Alex also holds roles at ShadowMachine and Renegade Animation as a lip sync animator and character designer. Previous experience includes contributions to the popular web series "Cyanide and Happiness" and lip sync animation for "BoJack Horseman" on Netflix. Alex has also served as a setup and layout artist at FOX Animation Domination High Definition and gained valuable intern experience at Starz Media and Gang of Seven. Alex holds a BA in Art with a focus on Animation from California State University of Northridge.

Established in 1999 by Alexander Bulkley and Corey Campodonico, ShadowMachine is an Emmy Award® winning studio, home to cutting edge creative talent in animation for film, television, commercials and music videos. Since its early days producing the acclaimed stop-motion animation show Robot Chicken, ShadowMachine has become a Television mainstay. The company has produced Moral Orel, Mary Shelley’s Frankenhole and Titan Maximum, all for Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, as well as the critically acclaimed and BoJack Horseman for Netflix which wrapped its 6th and final season in 2020. ShadowMachine is currently in production on Season 3 of Final Space for Conaco & TBS, Season 1 of Ten Year Old Tom for HBO and Season 2 of Tuca & Bertie for Adult Swim. On the Feature Film front, ShadowMachine is currently in production on Pinocchio, a stop-motion animated feature film directed by Guillermo del Toro.
