Katie Lathrop is an accomplished animator with a strong background in animation and stop motion. Currently employed as an animator at ShadowMachine since August 2023, Katie previously worked as an animator for Kiri and Lou from June 2022 to June 2023 and held the position of junior animator at ShadowMachine from November 2021 to May 2022. Prior experience includes an animation internship at LAIKA, LLC in mid-2021 and a brief stint as an animator at Stoopid Buddy Stoodios. Katie's foundational experience in animation began during studies at the Savannah College of Art and Design, culminating in a degree in animation with a focus on stop motion. Additional past roles include monitoring safety at SCAD, bartending at Wet Willie's, and teaching swimming to children for the City of Dublin, Ohio.

Established in 1999 by Alexander Bulkley and Corey Campodonico, ShadowMachine is an Emmy Award® winning studio, home to cutting edge creative talent in animation for film, television, commercials and music videos. Since its early days producing the acclaimed stop-motion animation show Robot Chicken, ShadowMachine has become a Television mainstay. The company has produced Moral Orel, Mary Shelley’s Frankenhole and Titan Maximum, all for Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim, as well as the critically acclaimed and BoJack Horseman for Netflix which wrapped its 6th and final season in 2020. ShadowMachine is currently in production on Season 3 of Final Space for Conaco & TBS, Season 1 of Ten Year Old Tom for HBO and Season 2 of Tuca & Bertie for Adult Swim. On the Feature Film front, ShadowMachine is currently in production on Pinocchio, a stop-motion animated feature film directed by Guillermo del Toro.
