Karissa Hughes has a diverse work experience in the hospitality industry. Karissa started their career as an Assistant Front Office Manager at Richmond Marriott West Hotel in 2003. Karissa then worked at TPG Hospitality/Sheraton Richmond West as a Convention Services Manager from 2005 to 2010. Next, they joined TPG Hospitality/Norfolk Waterside Marriott as an Event Manager from 2011 to 2013, and also served as a Business Transient Sales Manager from 2010 to 2011. Karissa then worked at Aramark as a Catering Manager from 2014 to 2018. Most recently, they are employed at Shamin Hotels as an Area Revenue Manager since 2018.
Karissa Hughes obtained their Bachelor of Science in Information Systems from Virginia Commonwealth University from 1998 to 2003. In addition, they received a certification in ServSafe from the National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation in January 2015.
