Hiroki Tanabe has extensive work experience in various roles and companies. Hiroki is currently the Global VP of Business Development at Shape Digital, starting in June 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Mitsui & Co., Ltd., where they held multiple roles over the years. These roles included Deputy General Manager, DGM Forth Dept, Division III, Infrastructure Projects Business Unit, and Deputy General Manager in the IT&DT Promotion Dept., Planning & Administrative Div in Energy Business Div. Hiroki also served as a Team leader in the New energy biz development div. and innovation creation div. in cooperate planning dep. and as a Commercial Manager in E&P for oil& gas in EMEA, Energy business unit. Before that, they were a Manager in the EMS business unit and IT Innovation Div II, and an IT & Strategy Consultant. Prior to joining Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Hiroki Tanabe worked as a Deputy General Manager in the ICT Division at Mitsui&Co.,Ltd(India), and as a Manager in the IT Solution Div at Mitsui & Co., Ltd. Hiroki also had a stint at Mitsui Knowledge Industry as a Manager in the Corporate Planning div/Business Planning div on secondment. Hiroki Tanabe started their career at Mitsui & Co., Ltd. in the Accounting Div. in 2003 and worked there until 2005.
Hiroki Tanabe attended Keio University from 1999 to 2003, where they obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree. During their time at Keio University, they specialized in international economic law and monopolistic laws.

In November 2020, Mitsui announced its comprehensive Digital Transformation (DX) strategy and is currently investing in Shape as one of its most advanced and important digital DX initiatives.
