Brian Irwin

Brian Irwin is an experienced academic leader in digital learning and technology-enhanced education, currently serving as the Head of Digital Learning and Practice at Sheffield Hallam University since May 2005. Irwin has held multiple senior roles within the university, including Head of Digital Capability and Head of Technology Enhanced Learning, contributing significantly to the development and implementation of policies aimed at enhancing student experiences through technology. Irwin's expertise extends to academic innovation, leadership in curriculum development, and e-learning support. In addition to university roles, Irwin has actively participated in national initiatives through leadership positions in the Heads of e-learning Forum, both as Chair and previously as Secretary. Irwin's educational background includes a Master's degree in e-learning from The University of Edinburgh and a Post Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education from Sheffield Hallam University.
