Michael Shimmin

Michael Shimmin is the Vice President of Tax at Shelf Drilling and is responsible for global taxation at the company.

Michael began his career in 2006 as an international tax consultant with Deloitte and has since gained extensive international tax experience with several multinational companies. Michael joined Shelf Drilling in 2013 and has held various positions within the company’s tax function.

Michael’s expertise includes global tax planning, U.S. GAAP income tax accounting and reporting, global tax compliance, tax audit defense, transfer pricing, M&A tax due diligence, cash repatriation strategies, and complex tax research and modeling.

Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Wisconsin and a Juris Doctor from Baylor University School of Law.
