David Hurford

Chief Risk Officer at Shift

David Hurford has held various roles in different companies throughout their career. David began working at the Westpac Institutional Bank in 1998, where they served as the Head of Securitisation and Debt Securities until 2000. David then became the Global Head of Financial Institutions from 2000 to 2003. In 2004, they joined Westpac Banking Corporation as the Head of Westpac Direct Equity Investments (WDEI) until 2008. David then moved on to work at Westpac as the Head of Equity Risk from 2009 to 2012. Following this, they worked at BT Financial Group as the Head of Core Risk & Compliance from 2012 to 2015. In 2016, they took on the role of Advisor (Part Time) at the Tribal Warrior Association and also became the Chief Risk Officer at Shift.

David Hurford obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Adelaide, where they studied from 1981 to 1984. David later pursued a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a focus on Finance and Management at Columbia Business School from 1989 to 1990. Additionally, they hold a certification from the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).
