Gunnar Kane is an experienced engineering professional with a strong background in backend development and release management. Currently serving as an Engineering Lead and Backend Engineer at Shift since May 2017, Gunnar specializes in feature development, product support, and the maintenance of cloud-based Java APIs and microservices that power the Shift Platform, while also engaging directly with customers for API integrations. Prior to this role, Gunnar completed an internship at Mechdyne Corporation where tasks included migrating software systems, imaging Windows operating systems, testing virtual reality equipment, and setting up specialized testing environments. Gunnar holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from James Madison University and graduated from Kellam High School.
