Pieterjan Criel

Pieterjan Criel is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Currently serving as a Principal Engineer at Showpad since January 2018, Pieterjan drives AI initiatives and collaborates with cross-functional teams to innovate and implement AI technologies. Pieterjan also holds the position of Chief Innovation at AICON Inc. and Co-Founder & Chief Data Officer at Balloon Inc., focusing on mobile development and data-driven solutions. Previous roles include Data Scientist at Agfa HealthCare, where Pieterjan analyzed clinical data, as well as PhD studies in Civil Engineering at Ghent University, complemented by an MSc in the same field. Notably, Pieterjan co-founded RGBSCAPE and has led software engineering efforts at Showpad, emphasizing data analysis and algorithm development.
