Olivier Ferrard

Olivier Ferrard has extensive experience in various positions related to internal audit, governance, risk, and compliance. Olivier is currently the Head of Internal Audit at Shurgard Self-Storage since May 2020. Prior to that, they worked at Carlsberg Group from 2016 to 2020, where they served as the Governance, Risk & Compliance Director and the Director of Group Internal Audit Europe & Global IT Audit. In these roles, they implemented integrated GRC platforms, strengthened control environments, and led the recruitment and training of auditors. Before Carlsberg Group, Olivier worked at Delhaize Group from 2006 to 2016, where they held several positions, including Head of Global IT Audit and Head of Internal Audit Belgium. Olivier conducted various audits, implemented GRC audit software, and supported the development and implementation of data analytics. Before joining Delhaize Group, Olivier worked at PwC Belgium from 2001 to 2006, specializing in audit and risk management consultancy.

Olivier Ferrard completed their high school education at Sint-Jan Berchmanscollege Brussel, where they obtained a diploma in Mathematics & Sciences in 1995. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Commercial Engineering at Solvay Business School (VUB) from 1995 to 2000. During their studies, they also participated in an Erasmus exchange program at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, focusing on Ciencias Economicas y Empresariales for the academic year 1999-2000. After completing their Master's degree, Olivier continued their education at KU Leuven - Group T Leuven Campus, where they obtained a Master's degree in Information Technology Management in 2001.

In addition to their formal education, Olivier Ferrard has acquired several certifications. In 2002, they earned the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) certification from ISACA. Later, in 2010, they obtained the Certification in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) from the same institution. Lastly, in 2012, Olivier obtained the Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) from The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc.
