Prof. Khalid A. Fakhro

Prof. Khalid A. Fakhro serves as the Chief Research Officer at Sidra Medicine since June 2014, where the focus is on implementing precision medicine through next-generation sequencing to investigate genetic variations and disease susceptibilities in the Qatari population. Additionally, since September 2017, Khalid has held multiple director positions at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, including Director of Precision Medicine Program and Director of Human Genetics, while also contributing as a Professor of Genomics and Precision Medicine and designing two PhD programs. In academic roles at Weill Cornell Medicine - Qatar since July 2013, Khalid has published significant studies in disease genetics and has played a crucial role in medical education. Prior experience includes work at Weill Cornell Medicine and Yale University, emphasizing next-generation sequencing and genetic research. Khalid's educational background includes a PhD in Human Genetics from Yale University and various executive education programs from prestigious institutions.
