Giancarlo Martinelli currently serves as the Security and Social Responsibility Corporate Manager and Chief Security Officer for Sierra Metals Inc. in Peru and Mexico since May 2023. Additionally, Giancarlo is a professor at the PAD - University of Piura School of Management, teaching Negotiation courses across various postgraduate programs since July 2022. Prior roles include Chief Security Officer at Gold Fields, where responsibilities encompassed security operations for multiple sites, and Security Supervisor for Hunt Oil, managing corporate security for key natural gas and petroleum operations. Giancarlo has extensive military experience in the Peruvian Navy, including roles in naval intelligence and as a liaison officer with the U.S. Navy. Educational qualifications include an Executive MBA from PAD and various diplomas in security and oil and gas management.
