Kaitlyn Smallfoot

Kaitlyn Smallfoot is a structural engineer at Sierra Space since September 2021, with prior experience as an undergraduate researcher at the Radiological Engineering Analysis Laboratory at Kansas State University, where contributions included designing an x-ray collimator that improved imaging by 20%. In addition, Kaitlyn interned at The Spaceship Company, collaborating on the design of a commercial supersonic business jet and developing a test plan for FAA approval of sustainable aviation fuel, and at Lockheed Martin, monitoring project compliance with design specifications and safety standards. Earlier experience includes conducting particle physics tests as a Mu2e undergraduate researcher at Fermi Lab and assembling robotic cells as a mechanical engineering intern at Acieta LLC. Kaitlyn obtained a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University in May 2021.
