Henry Nkumbe

Henry Nkumbe is a distinguished ophthalmologist with extensive experience in the field of eye care management and surgery. Currently serving as an Ophthalmology Faculty Board Member at the West African College of Surgeons and a Global Board Member at Sightsavers, Nkumbe is also a member of the Board of Directors for the Ophthalmology Foundation. As the Chief Executive Officer and Head of the Vitreo-Retinal Surgery Department at MAGRABI ICO Cameroon Eye Institute since 2014, Nkumbe has significantly contributed to the advancement of vitreo-retinal surgery. Additional roles include Medical Director at the Africa Eye Foundation and previous positions with CBM and the World Health Organization. Nkumbe holds a Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery from Aravind Eye Hospital and a Master of Science in Public Health for Eye Care from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, among other notable qualifications.
