Alexandros Belesiotis is a seasoned data science professional with extensive experience in various scientific and academic roles. Currently serving as the Director of Data Science at Signal since May 2017, Alexandros has progressed through multiple positions within the company, demonstrating expertise in data-driven decision-making. Prior to Signal, Alexandros was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for the Management of Information Systems, contributing to the City Risks Horizon 2020 Project, and at the National Technical University of Athens, focusing on Big Data Analytics in the Geocrowd Marie Curie ITN project. Alexandros also served as an application developer in the Hellenic Army and worked as a teaching assistant during PhD studies at The University of Edinburgh, where a PhD in Artificial Intelligence was earned, along with an MSc in Artificial Intelligence, Knowledge Representation and Reasoning. Alexandros holds a BSc in Informatics from the University of Piraeus.
