Paul Lekas serves as the Senior Vice President and Head of Global Public Policy and Government Affairs at SIIA since August 2021. Previously, Paul held the position of Director of Research & Analysis and Senior Legal & Strategy Advisor at the National Security Commission on Artificial Intelligence, where Paul developed recommendations on international policies related to AI. Additionally, Paul was part of the legal team for the Biden-Harris Transition Team, providing guidance on national security and foreign policy, and served as General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer for the National Commission on Military, National, and Public Service. Early in their career, Paul was Deputy General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Defense, focusing on complex legal issues and national security policy. Paul began their legal career at prestigious law firms, representing a wide range of clients in high-stakes investigations and litigations. Paul earned a JD from Harvard Law School and an AB magna cum laude in Social Studies from Harvard University.
