Christopher McGann

Christopher McGann is a highly experienced materials engineer with a focus on battery materials and high-performance polymers, currently serving as a Staff Battery Materials Engineer at Sila Nanotechnologies Inc. since January 2022. Previously, Christopher held positions as a Senior Materials Scientist at Lyten and as Materials Scientist III and II at Zymergen, where responsibilities included leading R&D efforts, managing teams, and developing bio-based polymer formulations for electronics applications. Christopher's earlier experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory, consulting for StemCulture LLC, and academic positions at the University of Delaware and Syracuse University, culminating in a PhD in Materials Science & Engineering from the University of Delaware. Throughout the career, Christopher has demonstrated expertise in polymer chemistry, project management, and collaboration with industry partners internationally.
