Prior to this, they served as the Head of Finance & IT at KLGCC (Sime Darby Group) for 13 years from June 2007 to June 2020. Syahrina began their career as a Management Accountant at AmBank Berhad from June 2004 to June 2007. Syahrina also worked as a Senior Auditor at KPMG, Malaysia from January 2001 to June 2004.

Syahrina completed their Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance from Lancaster University in the United Kingdom between 1995 and 1998.
