Dato’ Jeffri began his career with Coopers & Lybrand, London, the United Kingdom in 1986. He joined Sime Darby Berhad (Sime Darby) in 1992 as an Accountant and has held various senior finance roles until 1996 including as the Finance Manager of Sime Rengo Packaging Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Sime Darby.
In 2004, he returned to Sime Darby as the Finance Director of Tractors Malaysia Holdings Berhad in the Industrial Division of Sime Darby, responsible for the finance function of the Division's regional operations in Malaysia, Singapore, and China. In 2007, he was posted to Hong Kong as the Managing Director of The China Engineers, Limited and subsequently to Guangzhou, China, responsible for Sime Darby Industrial's Caterpillar distribution business in southern China and Xinjiang. In May 2014, the power systems business was added to Dato’ Jeffri's portfolio. The power systems business supplies engines and provides after-sales support and solutions largely to the marine, oil & gas, and energy industries. It has significant operations in Singapore, China, and Malaysia.
Dato’ Jeffri obtained his Bachelor of Science in Geology from University College London, the United Kingdom in 1986. He is a Chartered Accountant and an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales. He attended the Advanced Management Programme at the Harvard Business School in 2009.
