Megan Johnston has a diverse and extensive work experience in the fashion industry. Megan most recently worked as the Technical Design & Product Development Director, Knitwear at Jonathan Simkhai. Prior to that, they worked as a Knitwear Consultant, offering services in design, technical design, product development, and production to Ridge Merino and A. L. Megan also served as the Senior Technical Designer & Product Developer at Lunya & Lahgo. Previously, Megan held positions in Jonathan Simkhai as a Senior Product Developer & Technical Designer, Knitwear and at Ridge Merino, Inc. as a Freelance Knitwear Designer. Megan has also worked on a freelance basis for Sherpa Adventure Gear, Lucky Brand, ella moss, and Juicy Couture, specializing in sweaters and knitwear design. Megan also pursued their MFA in Design, with a focus on Wearable Technology, at UC Davis, where they worked as a Teaching Assistant & Graduate Researcher.
Megan Johnston attended the University of California, Davis from 2015 to 2017, where they obtained a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Fashion/Apparel Design. Prior to that, they studied at the University of Cincinnati from 2005 to 2009, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Fashion Design.

Jonathan Simkhai honed his technical skills at Parsons School of Design and the Fashion Institute of Technology before launching his first womenswear line in New York City. An early inductee to the CFDA Incubator program, he quickly developed an eye for craft and quality. Today he leads the brand’s creative studio, drawing inspiration from his travels and the cities he and his husband call home.
