Brian Fisher

Brian Fisher is a Full Professor at Simon Fraser University since August 2004, where research focuses on Highly Integrated Basic & Application-Responsive (HIBAR) initiatives within the Integrated Science Lab. In addition to academic roles, Brian serves as a member of the Eurostars Independent Expert Panel since February 2018, contributing to commercial ventures with funding around 3 million euros per project. Previously, Brian held positions as an Affiliate Professor in Computer Science at the University of British Columbia, Associate Director of the Media And Graphics Interdisciplinary Centre (MAGIC), and Visiting Scholar at UC San Diego. Brian's experience also includes adjunct roles at the Sauder School of Business, where contributions were made to technology entrepreneurship education. With a Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, Brian has a strong foundation in cognitive science and information system design.
