Mary Holmes is a seasoned leader in higher education with significant experience in strategic project management and academic operations. Currently serving as the Director of Strategic Projects and Analysis at Simon Fraser University since 2018, Mary provides leadership for university-wide initiatives within the Office of the Provost and Vice-President Academic. Previously, Mary held the position of Acting Executive Director in the same office, overseeing strategic operations during a leadership transition. Prior to joining Simon Fraser University, Mary served as the Associate Executive Director of UBC Continuing Studies, managing a large academic unit and leading strategic planning efforts. Mary also has a background in directing strategic initiatives at UBC Continuing Studies, focusing on organizational development and change management. Academically, Mary holds a Doctor of Business Administration in Higher Education Management from the University of Bath, as well as an MBA and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Marketing from The University of British Columbia.
