Stephanie Simmons

Stephanie Simmons is the Founder and Chief Quantum Officer at Photonic Inc., a position held since October 2016. Additionally, Simmons has served as a Canadian Institute for Advanced Research Fellow in Quantum Information Science and as a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Nanoelectronics at Simon Fraser University since 2015, along with holding the role of Assistant Professor of Physics. Educationally, Simmons earned a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Oxford, completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Electrical Engineering at UNSW, and held a Junior Research Fellowship at St. John's College, also at the University of Oxford. Simmons holds a Bachelor of Mathematics degree with Double Honours in Mathematical Physics and Pure Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.
