Maureen Benjamins

Senior Research Fellow at Sinai Chicago

Maureen Benjamins is a seasoned public health professional with extensive experience in research and teaching. Currently serving as a Senior Research Fellow, Interim Director, and Senior Epidemiologist at Sinai Urban Health Institute since May 2005, Maureen oversees partnerships with Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science, where Maureen also holds positions as an Associate and Assistant Professor of Medicine (Adjunct). Previously, Maureen was an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Loyola University Chicago from January 2020 to January 2022, and worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow in Gerontological Public Health at the University of Illinois at Chicago from May 2004 to March 2005. Maureen holds a PhD and MA in Sociology from The University of Texas at Austin, as well as a BS in Sociology from Duke University.
