Amos Leong serves as Chairman of the Singapore Accreditation Council since April 2021 and has held various leadership roles, including Deputy Chairman. Amos's experience extends to being a Board Member at Singapore Polytechnic and Enterprise Singapore, and an ARC Chairman & Board Member at Ellipsiz Ltd since May 2009. Notable prior positions include Member of the Singapore Future Economy Council and the Singapore Emerging Stronger Taskforce. Leong's earlier career includes Vice President & General Manager roles at Agilent Technologies and Hewlett-Packard Singapore, where responsibilities included overseeing worldwide sales, marketing, and support for electronics manufacturing test businesses. Leong holds a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the National University of Singapore and completed high school at Raffles Institution.

Singapore Polytechnic was set up on 27 October 1954 in the heart of the financial district, making it the very first polytechnic to be established in Singapore.
